The Model

How Contributor Payouts Work

Transparent, project-based compensation for shipped work.

Single Publishing Entity

Each app has one operating entity that handles publishing, legal, and distribution. Clean and simple.

Fixed Royalty Budget

Each project can optionally allocate a fixed royalty budget to compensate verified contributors for shipped deliverables. Budget and rules are defined before work begins.

Transparent Contribution Ledger

Every contribution is tracked. Pull requests, features, and fixes are all verified and recorded in the project ledger.

Compensation Model

Contractual Compensation for Shipped Work

Contributors may receive royalties or bonuses proportional to their verified shipped contributions, governed by a written Contributor Agreement.

Compensation based on verified shipped deliverables
Proportional to contribution points (non-transferable)
Applies only to that specific project

What This Is NOT

Not an investment opportunity
Not company equity or tokens
Not IP ownership or voting rights
Cannot be purchased, earned only

This keeps things simple, legal, and sustainable for everyone.

Calculation

Payout Example (Royalty Allocation)

Net Receipts Breakdown

Net Receipts (after fees, refunds, chargebacks) $10,000
Contributor Royalty Budget (per agreement) $2,000
Total Contribution Points (accepted deliverables) 100 points

Points are awarded only for verified, accepted work tied to specific releases (merged PRs, release tasks, maintenance fixes). Points are locked per release and may be updated for future accepted work.

Payout Allocation

A
Alice

40 points

$800
B

35 points

C

Points are an internal allocation tool. They are not equity, not transferable, and not purchasable.

Example for illustration only. Royalties are not guaranteed and apply only if a project elects to offer them under a written Contributor Agreement.

Rules

Important Guidelines

Fixed Royalty Budget

The royalty budget is locked at project start and documented in the Contributor Agreement.

Earned, Not Bought

You cannot purchase royalties. Available only for shipped work accepted into a release.

Active App Required

Compensation applies only while the app is actively maintained and generating revenue.

Written Agreement

Subject to written Contributor Agreement for each project.

Regular Payouts

Payouts calculated monthly/quarterly via Stripe, PayPal, or ACH.

Tax Onboarding

Payouts require tax/payment onboarding (W-9/1099 where applicable).

Non-Transferable

Points cannot be bought, traded, or transferred between contributors.

Membership ≠ Royalties

Membership fees purchase education and community access. They do not purchase royalties.

Project Discontinuation

Royalties apply only while the app is live and generating receipts, as defined in the agreement.
